Free browser tools for PDFs, images, text and numbers
Compress a PDF, convert an image, count words, format JSON or work out a percentage. Each tool runs on your device, so the file you open never leaves it.
Most used tools
The tools people open most often. Every one of them downloads a result straight from your browser.
PDF Compressor
Compress a PDF in your browser. Lossless mode rewrites the file and keeps text selectable; Balanced and Strong re-render every page as a JPEG image.
Merge PDF
Combine two or more PDFs into one file called merged.pdf, in the order you selected them. Pages are copied by pdf-lib in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
JPG to PDF
Place JPG, PNG or WebP images on A4 pages, one per image, portrait or landscape to match, and download images.pdf. Built with pdf-lib in your browser.
Image Compressor
Shrink a JPG, PNG or WebP in your browser with a quality slider (35 to 95). The output is always WebP at the original pixel size. Nothing is uploaded.
Image Resizer
Set an exact width and height in pixels, keep the proportions linked or set them free, and download a PNG. Works on any image your browser can open; no upload.
PNG to JPG
Convert a PNG or WebP to JPG in your browser. Choose the color that fills transparent areas and a JPEG quality from 45 to 100; the pixel size stays the same.
Word Counter
Count words, characters with and without spaces, sentences and reading time at 220 words per minute as you type. Text stays in your browser and is never saved.
JSON Formatter
Paste JSON to check it parses, pretty-print it with two-space indentation or minify it to one line. Errors report the position; nothing is sent to a server.
QR Code Generator
Type a link or text and download an 800 pixel PNG QR code made in your browser with level H error correction. No tracking, no expiry, no sign-up.
Percentage Calculator
Work out X percent of a number, what percent one number is of another, and the percentage change between two values. Runs in your browser with no sign-up.
Unit Converter
Convert length (meter to inch), weight (kilogram to ounce) and temperature (Celsius, Fahrenheit, Kelvin) with exact international factors. Three groups only.
Password Generator
Generate a random password of 8 to 64 characters from lowercase letters plus optional uppercase, digits and 14 symbols, using crypto.getRandomValues locally.

How the site handles your files
Plain answers about what runs where, because that is what most people want to know before they open a document here.
Processing stays on your device
The tools are written in JavaScript and use your browser's own features: the canvas for images, Web Crypto for passwords, and open-source libraries such as pdf-lib and pdf.js for documents. Nothing is sent to a server to be processed.
Nothing is stored
There is no account and no file history. A download link is a temporary address inside your browser that stops working when you close the page.
Honest about limits
Every tool page lists what it cannot do, from PDFs that keep only their text when converted to Word, to image formats your browser may not decode. If a result looks wrong, the page says why that can happen.
Common questions
Do my files get uploaded?
No. Every tool on this site runs in your browser with JavaScript. The PDF, image or text you choose is read by your browser, processed on your device and handed back to you as a download. The site has no upload endpoint for tool files.
Why is there no account or sign-up?
Nothing needs to be stored for you. Because processing happens on your device, there is no file history, quota or profile to manage, so there is nothing to log in to.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no limit set by the site, but your browser's memory is the practical limit. Very large PDFs or images can make a tab slow or unresponsive, especially on phones. Each tool page explains what to expect for that tool.
Why do results differ between browsers?
The tools use browser features such as the canvas, Web Crypto and the PDF rendering library loaded in the page. Browsers differ in which image formats they can read and write and in how they render text, so an output can vary slightly from one browser to another.
Who runs Smart Tools House?
Smart Tools House is an independent site and is not part of another company. The About page explains how the tools are built, and the contact page says how to report a problem or suggest a tool.
